Peggy Simson Curry, a writer and Wyoming's first Poet Laureate was born in 1912 in Scotland, and moved with her parents to the cattle ranching country around the North Park area of Colorado as a small child. She received her English degree from the University of Wyoming in 1936. In 1939 she settled with her husband in Casper, Wyoming, remaining there until her death in 1987.
